About
Evelyn and Bruce Butler...
Whether they are hiking in a tropical rainforest, exploring a
subterranean cave, swimming with manta rays, or snorkeling
around a coral reef, Evelyn and Bruce are two "ordinary" people
who enjoy "out-of-the-ordinary" things just as much as they
enjoy providing "out-of-the-ordinary" service to their many
customers!
A
native of New York, Evelyn has been a Hudson Valley resident for
nearly 30 years, while Bruce's Hudson Valley roots go back to the 1600's when his
family was among the earliest settlers in New Paltz, Wallkill,
Newburgh, Plattekill, Rosendale and Kingston. Bruce is a direct
descendant of Christian
Deyo, Hugo Freer, and the DuBois' who were among the twelve
French Huguenot families who founded the Village
of New Paltz after leaving their homeland to escape religious
persecution. Evelyn is
an Alumnus of NYC's Fashion Institute of Technology, and a SUNY
graduate, while Bruce is an Alumnus of Mt. St. Mary College, and Peekskill
Military Academy where he presently serves on the Board of
Trustees and as Vice President of the Alumni
Association.
Evelyn
has participated in many community organizations including animal
shelters, breast cancer fundraising and awareness, Habitat for
Humanity, Easter Seals and The March of Dimes, and also serves as
an Election Inspector for Orange County. Bruce has been active with
Boy Scouts, The Red Cross and Muscular Dystrophy Association. He is a
Masonic Past Master, and served of the Board of the Newburgh
Masonic Association. Once the voice of Kentucky Fried Chicken ads
on TV ("Nothing satisfies like today's KFC..."), you will still occasionally hear Bruce's voice
broadcasting news and live community events on the area's CNN radio
affiliate WWLE 1170am. Evelyn and Bruce enjoy travel, safari
adventures, Yankee games, dining, antiques, fitness,
and cultural events. They have four grown children and two
grandchildren.
